Now faith is what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
Mission: "To allow church leaders to restore, encounter, and draw nearer in their relationship to our Lord Jesus Christ."
Mission: "To allow church leaders to restore, encounter, and draw nearer in their relationship to our Lord Jesus Christ."
In the Fall of 2005, the Lord gave me a vision. He said He wanted a pastor retreat center named Briar Creek, in Theodosia, Missouri. He told me to build my home and name it Faith, because the place would be built on Faith. He showed me 7 cabins for the pastors and He wanted other Fruits of the Spirit on each one. The cabin names would be Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, and Gentleness. He told me to put name of Self Control on my garage, "to remind me not to fill it with a bunch of toys." He showed me a trail called "The Names of God" trail. On this trail, He showed me different things He wanted to represent some of His names. This book is a journey of Faith. It is a book of how miracles still take place and how God still has plans for each one of us, if we would just listen and believe. This book is meant to help others realize that the same God who talked to Noah and the same God who told Abraham to get up and move, is the same God speaking to each of us today.

Briar Creek Retreat Center is one of many Pastor/Missionary Retreat Centers located in different geographical locations throughout the United States. Briar Creek is located in Theodosia, Missouri and started in 2007 by Michael and Gretchen Hatcher. The vision of Briar Creek is to glorify God and build his kingdom by strengthening Christian pastors, missionaries, and other church leaders for better ministry to the people they lead. We desire Briar Creek to provide a self-directed and Christ-centered retreat experience, where God prompts Christian leaders to feel His presence, discern His will and follow His leading. These spiritually strengthened pastors will be empowered by God to transform their ministries and build His kingdom.
Many church leaders will come through our doors and each one of them has the potential of doing amazing things for the kingdom of God, or they have the potential of quitting. Prayer will be a vital necessity to Briar Creek's continued success. Statistics show that pastors are burning out at an alarming rate. Young pastors, in particular, are meeting the challenges of their call to ministry and it is proving to be too much for them. Briar Creek has the desire to be a place for a leader to come, free of charge, and reconnect with God’s call on their life
Your support and contributions will enable us to allow our guests to come for free. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
